There were some issues, like starting videos in the middle of a sentence, and providing references to broken links or expired websites.
very good and teaches a lot very fast -- i recommend it to any skill ! yet, i am dissapointed that the resources on hi website are not available anymore ... nor hiw website.
Good explanations and comprehensive but short course (which I like). I especially learned some new techniques in the Fabric sessions.
I wish we would see much less of instructor's face while he draws. He is not a very engaging instructor, so at least we can see what he does instead of how he talks.
I think It's great! I just wasn't aware we would be drawing the 1930s. It's not bad just what I was expecting.
Could have explained more thoroughly. For example if he draws a hand he says things like "I'll just draw a curve here" and doesn't explain if maybe that curve/fold is there because the finger is pressed into the palm with more pressure than a loose finger. And it never said this was catered towards 1930's style of cartoon only. I am an experienced artist but not an experienced cartoonist so I'm catching some parts on here in which I understand and that should have been explained better for the view point of a beginner. The course if very cheap though so that's good.
I way enjoyed this course. The half star off was about the videographer. It gets frustrating to get way focused on what Kevin is showing us drawingwise and then the camera cuts to a far shot of Kevin drawing at his drawing table...totally interrupting focus on us drawing along with him. In the future if you want a pulled back shot of Kevin can you make it a B-roll on the screen still keeping the drawing demo running too? That would make us all happy. I'm taking many Kevin courses and another issue that others also mention is sometimes the light sketch-in lines on the white page are invisible in the video and it makes it hard to grasp what's going on. And I guess it's hard to keep the hand from blocking lines when drawing demos go on. I have another thing to bring up, but I'll bring it up in another Kevin course cuz really its quite a cool course and very helpful to people like me who have a cartooning project to do, but little time to get back in drawing shape. Sometimes I watch things Kevin teaches and say out loud, "Cool! Thanks for showing us this!" I hope he hears me.
Its good for learning basics cartoon stuff, I would suggest if the introduction of this starts in another way, for example you can start with the face proposition then get into the ditals of eyes, hand and so on. this is my opinion
Excellent course. The instructor really shows the he knows cartooning an how to make simplified characters, I will be using this in my cartoon strips.
It was very good, I learned a lot and it is very understandable. Al though it could have been better. I wish you had added a tutorial on hair, necks, bodies, five fingered hands, and clothes. But otherwise the course is great!
Such a motivating course. It definitely inspired me to improve my cartooning skills. If you need me, I'll be at my drawing table. :-)
